‘Million’ is a magical word. However, until a few years back, it used to be an alien word for me. I’m from New Delhi, India, and here we talk in Lakhs and Crores. Thanks to globalization and the growth of the blogging and startup industries, “million” is no longer a word that is exciting for me. Why am I talking about this word? Because ShoutMeLoud receives more than 1.5 million page views a month, and one of my goals for this year is to reach 2 million page views a month. I think we can get there… Welcome to this special transparency report of ShoutMeLoud! Every few months, I publish a report like this stating what is happening with our blog, how we performed in terms of traffic and income, and a lot of new ideas and suggestions for bloggers in every niche to grow their own blogging businesses. If you are not sure why I publish such transparency reports, then you should read our philosophy here and check out previous income reports … [Read more...] about ShoutMeLoud July 2017 Blog Income & Traffic Report: $50k Milestone
Home » Blogging » Blogging Isn’t Free: 10 Forgotten Expenses You Bear For Blogging Is blogging an expensive endeavor or is it something that absolutely anyone can start with? The truth, however, is that blogs fail. They sputter and eventually die. Michael Stelzner of Social Media Examiner points out a few reasons why blogs fail and what you can do about it. Whether blogs fail or propel you towards dizzy success, there’s a lot more to blogging than meets the eye. One trailing myth that I love to bust is that blogging is “free.” It actually isn’t. Remote working and working from home is the flavor of international business these days. Even here at ShoutMeLoud, we have a distributed remote tool. We use tools like Slack, Trello, Wunderlist & Skype for most of our work. However one of the biggest challenge which I personally face is rewarding my team once in a while. Since we all are sitting distant, the way we reward has to be different. Is int it? And, I’m not alone in this. Many startups and businesses are realizing the flexibility of a remote team. A remote team doesn’t require a large infrastructure and doesn’t need in-house perks. The remote team helps with cost reduction with some teams available at 1/3rd the cost of a normal hire. There are a lot of positives to take from a remote or work from home team but there are a few negatives as well. As humans, we are social animals who like social interaction. It is: The Rise of the Autodidact and DIY’ers “Autodidact” is a person who teaches themselves. “DIY” means “Do It Yourself”. When I started my first web development business, I had no idea how to code and I knew nothing of web development. Armed with a few courses and some online content, I taught myself Python. With this knowledge, I approached a client and closed my first $3,000 e-commerce website project. (I was a commerce major in school.) More and more people are picking up money making skills through online courses and content. So if there are people who consume this content and benefit immensely from it, then there needs to be people who create and teach this content. If you are one of these creators/teachers, then this article can help. Have you gone through a high-quality Udacity … [Read more...] about The Best Websites to Make Your Own Whiteboard Videos
